Barcelona had another trophy filled season in 2014/15, pocketing silverware from La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League.
Arda Turan and
Aleix Vidal joined Barcelona's midfield already in January and
Pedro Rodríguez, with limited minutes available in Barca's lineup, is likely to transfer to Manchester before the transfer window closes. But the
Messi-
Neymar-
Suárez trio will probably manage just fine, and the coach
Luis Enrique may still have appetite for more trophies. Barcelona's question mark is their defense, which has been leaking in the pre-season.
Real Madrid will be hungry after finishing two points behind Barcelona last season. Two points, to which injuries with some of the their key players no doubt contributed. Real will need solid season from players like
Gareth Bale and
Luka Modric to keep up with Barcelona, and also in the forward section the team could use some more tactical options around
Cristiano Ronaldo.
Atlético Madrid beat their local rival twice last season and they have re-acquired
Filipe Luis, one of the key players of sensational 2013/14 season which brought Atlético the La Liga title and UEFA Champions League final place. But with 16 points separating them from the trophy last season, can any improvements cover the distance in this league? The team has changed a lot during the year after the Champions League final, and it may take another year to find the right players for the right positions.
If Real can keep their squad healthy, we expect them to regain the title. But because that's a big if, in our prediction we give the title to Barcelona.
